Homebirth & Postpartum Specialist Doula
I'm Clare, Mama to two girls and a whole host of rescue animals, living in (organised-ish) chaos, unschooling life in the Worcestershire countryside.
I am a practicing Doula and have worked with Mothers for over 20 years. I hold a number of highly recognised, professional qualifications and regularly undertake Mentorship with other women - shared wisdom is magic and every woman needs someone who is able to hold and nurture them as they hold and nurture others.
I have provided Cultural Humility training for the NHS, The British Psychological Society, SANDS Baby loss charity, leading birth and baby course providers, universities and charities and continue to attend conferences as a keynote speaker and space holder.
When i'm not working you'll find me in the garden, where i love to grow our own food or mucking out the ponies with my girls!

The journey into Motherhood wasn't straight forward for me..
I had undiagnosed infertility which turned out to be related to PCOS and Endometriosis. It took 6 years for me to become a mum and i suffered the trauma of losing three precious, much longed for babies along the way.
The support i received after my babies were born too early (i don't like the term 'miscarriage' ) was incredibly poor and this is something that i feel passionately about changing- no woman should be placed on a maternity ward full of new mums and babies when they have just been told they have lost theirs.
My first birth experience was nothing short of traumatic. I was unprepared (i'm not sure i could allow myself to believe my pregnancy would get that far) and i had no idea what my options were. I have never felt so vulnerable and out of control in my life. This experience left me struggling with Postnatal Depression & Anxiety - i wanted everything to be perfect, i wouldn't allow myself to rest or accept help and i became convinced something would happen to my baby. The one time i reached out for support my health visitor told me that it would mean 'a lot of paperwork', so i left it there - how sad is that?
I went onto have a second miracle baby 18 months later , she suffered with horrific colic and reflux and literally woke on the hour every hour - my mental health took a dip again, there was zero support.
These experiences, coupled with my own cultural views on Motherhood are what fuel my passion for providing mums with the kind of support that is literally life changing.
