MotherBaby: Naturopathic Postpartum Doula Training
Learn the art of caring for MotherBaby
The weeks and months after birth are a profound time of healing, adjustment, bonding and becoming.
Yet new mothers are often expected to simply get on with it.
MotherBaby is a 12 week online mentorship for doulas who want to develop a deeper, more traditional and holistic approach to postpartum care, supporting both mother and baby through the fourth trimester and beyond.
Created and taught by Clare Cox, doula, herbalist and perinatal bodywork specialist with nearly three decades of experience supporting women, babies and families, MotherBaby brings together practical skills, traditional knowledge and the realities of modern doula work.
You will learn how to nourish the mother, care for the baby, support physical recovery, work with herbs and healing foods, offer nurturing bodywork, facilitate MotherBaby Circles and build a sustainable postpartum doula business.
Birth is only the beginning
The birth has happened.
The visitors have gone home.
The flowers are beginning to wilt.
And there is a mother who has just done one of the biggest things her body and soul will ever do, alongside a tiny new person who needs almost everything from her.
This is the fourth trimester.
It is a time for warmth, nourishment, rest, protection, healing, feeding, bonding and being held.
Traditionally, mothers were surrounded by women who knew what to do.
Food was prepared.
Bodies were cared for.
Babies were held.
Wisdom was passed down.
There was a village.
MotherBaby explores how we can bring some of that wisdom and practical care back into modern postpartum support.
What does it mean to truly care for a postpartum mother?
It means understanding that recovery doesn't end when a mother gives birth. It means knowing how to prepare food that genuinely nourishes her, understanding the physical changes happening in her body and knowing how touch and massage can support her recovery.
It means understanding babies beyond nappies and unnatural sleep routines. It means developing a relationship with herbs and plants, learning how traditional remedies have been used and understanding how to work with them safely and responsibly.
It also means knowing how to create a safe and supportive space where mothers can talk, share, rest and simply be. Sometimes the most valuable thing you can offer isn't another piece of advice. It is a village.
MotherBaby will help you develop the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to offer this kind of care.

**YOUR TWO BONUS COURSES**
MotherBaby doesn't stop with learning how to care for families.
Alongside your six core modules, you will receive two additional courses designed to help you turn your knowledge into a sustainable body of work.
BONUS COURSE ONE
Building Your Doula Business Without Burnout: The BloomPrint
Being a brilliant doula is one thing.
Building a business that allows you to make a living from that work, without becoming completely exhausted by it, is another.
The BloomPrint is your guide to creating a doula business around the life you actually want to live.
You will explore business clarity and alignment, understanding what you want your work and life to look like and building your business around your strengths rather than trying to copy somebody else's model.
You will look at marketing in a way that feels authentic, developing a clear message and learning how to communicate the value of your work without constantly feeling that you have to sell yourself.
You will explore systems, boundaries and sustainability, creating ways of working that protect your time, energy and capacity.
And you will look at mentorship, community and the bigger picture of your professional journey.
The aim is simple: to build a doula business that supports you, rather than one that slowly eats your life.
BONUS COURSE TWO
MotherBaby Circle Facilitation
Motherhood was never meant to happen in isolation.
The MotherBaby Circle course introduces you to the foundations of creating and facilitating nurturing spaces where mothers and babies can come together, share their experiences and build community.
You will explore the purpose and tradition of women's circles, creating safe and welcoming spaces, holding space without taking over, creating a circle structure and rhythm and developing meaningful themes and conversation prompts.
You will learn about opening and closing a circle, listening deeply, supporting mothers through shared experiences and navigating difficult or emotional conversations.
We will also explore practical considerations for facilitating MotherBaby Circles online and in person, including how you can develop your own circle offering as part of your wider postpartum doula practice.
The circle gives mothers something that modern motherhood desperately needs:
other mothers.
THE MOTHERBABY PATHWAY
MotherBaby gives you the foundations to develop your own approach to postpartum care.
For some doulas, that will mean offering one-to-one postpartum support. For others, it may include massage, infant massage, food preparation or herbal support.
For others, it may grow into something much bigger, with MotherBaby Circles creating ongoing spaces for mothers to connect throughout the first year of their babies' lives.
You can take what you learn and shape it around your own skills, experience and way of working.
The aim isn't to create a room full of identical doulas.
It is to give you the knowledge and foundations to develop your own distinctive postpartum practice.
AND YOUR SUPPORT DOESN'T END AFTER 12 WEEKS
MotherBaby isn't a course you complete and then get left to figure everything out on your own.
Once you have completed the 12 week mentorship, you remain part of the MotherBaby community with free ongoing bi-monthly live calls.
These calls give you a regular space to come back together, ask questions, talk through your experiences, continue learning and be supported as your postpartum doula practice develops.
You will also have ongoing access to our private community group, connecting you with other doulas who share your passion for deeply nourishing, holistic postpartum care.
Because sometimes you don't need another course.
You need somewhere to ask, "Has anyone else experienced this?"
You need people who understand the work.
You need somewhere to celebrate the beautiful moments, work through the tricky ones and keep learning alongside women who are walking a similar path.
That is what the MotherBaby community is here for.
Your MotherBaby journey includes:
12 weeks of structured online mentorship
6 comprehensive modules
6 live mentorship calls during the programme
Two bonus courses
Free ongoing bi-monthly live calls after completion
Ongoing access to the MotherBaby private community group
Continued connection, learning and professional support
MotherBaby is designed to become more than something you study.
It can become a place you return to throughout your doula journey.

Is MotherBaby for you?
MotherBaby is for doulas who want to deepen their postpartum knowledge and offer families something richer than conventional postpartum support.
It is for you if you are drawn to traditional approaches to maternal and infant care, want practical skills you can actually use with families and want to understand the fourth trimester as a whole physical, emotional and relational experience.
It is for doulas who want to learn about postpartum bodywork, healing foods, herbal medicine, infant massage and natural babycare. It is for those who want to develop their confidence supporting babies throughout their first year and those who feel called to create spaces where mothers can connect with one another through MotherBaby Circles.
It is also for birth doulas who have realised that birth is only one part of the journey and want to walk further into the work of supporting families.
Learn from nearly three decades of experience
MotherBaby is created and taught by Clare Cox, a doula, herbalist and perinatal bodywork specialist with nearly three decades of experience supporting women, babies and families, having grown up learning from elders in community - not textbooks!
This mentorship brings together practical experience, traditional knowledge and a deep understanding of the realities of motherhood.
You won't simply be handed a workbook and left to figure it out. Through the live mentorship calls, you will have space to ask questions, explore ideas, share experiences and deepen your understanding alongside other doulas.
You will leave with more than a certificate
You will leave with a deeper understanding of postpartum care, practical skills and a collection of approaches that you can bring into your work with families.
You will have explored maternal recovery, infant massage, naturopathic babycare, healing foods, herbal medicine, placenta care and the importance of community. You will have the foundations for facilitating MotherBaby Circles and ideas for developing your own postpartum services and business.
Most importantly, you will have a deeper understanding of how to look at a postpartum mother and ask:
What does this mother need right now?
And know where to begin.
